Here are some shots of street photography that were mostly done in Chinatown. The idea is to capture the mood and the people of the city in a candid manner. Notice the black & white effect for added coolness. (click on the image for a larger version)

So... do you approach these people and ask permission before taking their picture, or do you surprise them like a paparazzi with poor celebrity-recognition skills?

ReplyDeleteRichard - it depends on the person. Notice that the guy drinking the Jim Beam is holding a dollar bill. Guess who gave it to him...
ReplyDeleteThe first two photos were taken as I was holding the camera around my waist. It's called 'shooting from the hip'.
These are great! I especially like the door/wall with images on them. Here's a poor pun by a poet: what a great eye you have!
